Grit and gravel wash down onto the lane, especially after rain, and then the car ahead of you throws it. Most start with a full front, because the bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors take the majority of what the road sends forward. If you run the canyon often, the lower panels are worth adding, and some cars are worth doing end to end.
