Self-healing that actually works
XPEL pioneered self-healing PPF in 2011. The elastomeric polymer top coat has shape memory: when scratched, the molecular chains are displaced but not broken. Heat causes them to relax back. The scratch fills in from the bottom up in seconds. No polishing. No intervention. The film looks freshly installed for years.
Lab-verified stain and chemical resistance
Per the XPEL Technical Data Sheet, Ultimate Plus shows no detrimental effect after 30-minute immersion in gasoline, diesel, motor oil, lacquer thinner, and acetone. Bug acids, bird droppings, and tree sap do not bond to the low-surface-energy film. Edge Seal Technology prevents lifting and contaminant intrusion.
